SEARCH ENGINES

It is our job to make your webpage or website Search Engine friendly. We will take the information you give us on the Set-Up Form and use it for this purpose. We will probably talk with you about it to make sure we do the best possible job for you.
The NBBD is spidered (scanned) regularly by all the major search engines. They will pick up all of our first level directories. That's where your website will be. Many dig in much deeper.
All of our Domains are submitted to the Search Engines on a regular, timely basis. This is a service that, when offered separately, generally costs $20-40.00 per month.
NOTE: We do not submit to Yahoo!. That you SHOULD do yourself at yahoo.com.
We have had significant success with the Search Engines. This is because we cover the basics thoroughly and don't play games. We also keep up with the latest advice from Search Engine experts.

HOW TO LOOK AT WEBSITE TRAFFIC

Being available on the Search Engines means very different things to different businesses! If you are selling a product that people all over the world are looking for, and you can deliver it to them (like banjos), or they come to you for it (like hotel rooms), you could have hundreds of people finding your website every day.
If you are a local store or service (like jewelry or insurance) you might have only three or four people looking at your site every day. These are people coming to your site for a purpose, and are very good, often new, prospects getting lots of information about what you offer. Even that costs you only 5-15¢ per extremely well targeted prospect. Keep in mind that "hits" properly means an item (text, graphic, button) downloaded. One "viewer" or "session" often means 10-20 "hits." One viewer often visits several pages. Some use "hits" to exaggerate the actual "viewer" count.

THE WEBSITE AS PART OF AN INTEGRATED MARKETING STRATEGY

Your website will provide a great deal more information, complete with full color images, at a much lower cost than any other media. The problem is how to get people to find it. There are millions of scarcely used websites out there. Some estimate that over 90% do very little for their owners.
That's because of wishful thinking - poor marketing.

Here are some things that you can do to maximize the return on your website:

  1. Put your URL ( or ) on your letterhead, invoices, business card, promotional (rack) cards, information sheets, brochures; anything that you send out.
  2. Put your URL in all your ads, newspaper, radio, TV, magazines. Interest people in it by saying something like: "Peruse our complete menu at Š" or "See out 'Frequently Asked Questions' at Š ."
  3. Exchange links. Do you have a friend in a complementary (not competitive) business? Why not exchange links with them? You might exchange recommendations or use graphics.
  4. Send out a press release announcing your new website; or a significant addition. Include it in any press release.
  5. Write an article on subjects that not only display your expertise in an area, but which will generate confidence in your audience.
  6. Hold a contest where your customers need to go to your website to get the answer.
  7. Offer a coupon. We'll list it on our Coupons Directory
  8. Send out an announcement of your website to your customers and friends.
  9. We have cooperative arrangements with icFlorida and All Brevard Websites . I highly recommend that you go to their sites and get your website listed.
  10. Use it on give-aways, like pencils, post-it notes, key-chains, refrigerator magnets, etc.
  11. Get another business to send out your announcement with their bills, make it an exchange.
  12. Place inexpensive Classified Ads in a number of newspapers & magazines.
  13. Teach a class or make a presentation at a club and pass out your materials.
  14. Attend Chamber of Commerce events and pass out your card.
  15. Join a leads club or home business club.
  16. Advertise on some popular NBBD webpages for about 1/2¢ per highly targeted viewer.

Once your promotion and placement have begun -- and this is an an ongoing process -- it's time to visit your own Web site.

  1. Are the pages loading quickly and with all graphics displayed?
  2. Have you personally clicked through your site as a shopper would to confirm that all links are working and flow in a pattern that makes sense?
  3. Make sure to display consumer service awards/associations and customer testimonials.
  4. Do you give your visitors an option to have their name added to your mailing list to be notified of future offers, new products, etc.? And even more important, do you use this list to contact past visitors to remind them of your site?

REMEMBER: You know about AOL.COM and CNN.COM because you see and hear them everywhere. You don't have to spend millions to target North Brevard. The NBBD.COM can be an important part of your marketing strategy.
